This past Saturday the big day finally came and went for my good friends Laura and Jared. They have been looking forward to getting married for a long time and their wedding was absolutely perfect! When they asked me to be the photographer, I was flattered. This whole journey has been fun and exciting and I am grateful to have shared this experience with the both of them. Photographing them is such an easy task. Their love is evident and effortless and I know this is just the beginning of a lifetime of happiness. Here is just a handful of photos of the newly weds and their special day!
In exactly two weeks I will be on my way to Chicago! My college has offered the Fashion Merchandising and Interiors Majors a chance to go on a Fashion Industry Tour. This three day trip includes a Career Fair where I will attend classes about different segments of the industry, listen to guest speakers, network with other college students, meet designers, visit nearby retailers, tour the Merchandise Mart, watch a fashion show, and SHOP UNTIL I DROP! There are no words to describe how anxious and excited I am for this experience. I'm very thankful to be given this opportunity and hope to make the best of my time there.
Since this trip is all about fashion, of course I have been planning out some really great outfits for my weekend adventure. If I could bring any three outfits that I wanted, they would definitely be these three pictures posted below. Unfortunately, I don't have that much money. It was still fun mixing and matching and creating the perfect outfits, though. Last night I went on a mini shopping spree and bought a few items that I'm sure I'll bring with me. I'll post my final outfit choices once I make that decision..which I'm sure will change a million times before I leave! Until then, here are some ideas that I've come up with that I WISH I could wear.
When I was younger, I always thought celebrities were the absolute coolest people alive. Their flawless complexions, perfectly straight teeth, the way they dressed - these were all reasons I viewed them as superior human beings. I can even remember thinking to myself, "I want to be a celebrity when I grow up." Everyone has a certain celebrity or celebrities they look up to and trust me, I had many. It's funny, though, as you mature you learn that these people have a little bit of "normal" in them after all. Yes, they are talented and glamorous and seemingly immaculate but they aren't so different from us. One way I stumbled upon this realization was noticing tattoos as a popular accessory on the red carpet. So, today, I have gathered pictures of some bad-ass celebrities who aren't afraid to show off their ink.
Gah! I have been super crazy busy lately! Since we're about half way through the semester, studying for midterms has been a top priority. I know I say it all the time, but twenty-four hour days are not enough for me. Most mornings I make myself a to-do list for the day. And most nights when I'm crawling into bed, I realize I have only finished about half of my goals. One day, though, I will catch up. Maybe even be ahead of the game. Who knows. For the time being, here are some pictures to fill you in on what I've been up to!
My weekend away and exploring the great outdoors is what inspired me for this week's Tattoo Tuesday post. It was refreshing to spend basically an entire morning and afternoon outside, taking in the beauty of fall. The colorful leaves, the crisp cool breeze and the animals in their natural habitat were all working together to create the perfect picture. It felt so good just to walk! I'm so accustomed to always driving from place to place that wandering around by foot helped me pause and take in the honesty of nature. (Click here to see my post and pictures from my Weekend Getaway with the boy!) For the most part, I've never been the type of person who LOVES going out into the wild. Camping was never my "thing" and the idea of spending time outside has always been sort of a chore. But, this weekend opened my eyes to a whole new world. I now have a desire to do things like go hiking, climb rocks, lay in the leaves, get muddy, take a camping trip, search for plants and animals.
There were so many tattoos to choose from, so I picked my favorites. I like these ones the best and I hope you do as well.
